I'm going to have a sister!

Last night I learned that my fabulous brother Adam (Happy Birthday, Adam!) proposed to his dreamy girlfriend, Rebecca, this weekend. They're engaged! The wedding is planned for March. And just now sitting at my desk at work, I realized that I'm going to have a sister! Right here in the same timezone as me! I'm so excited, I can barely stand it. I'm all teary. Right at the office. Someone pass the Kleenex.

Congratulations, Adam & Rebecca!

Oh, and now you've made me get all teary at work! I'm very excited to have a big sister. You've already been a sister to me in so many ways, it's nice to make it official. Hugs and kisses!

Hi Emy! I don't think it will turn out to be a wraponcho. Rebecca asked for a Charlotte's Web shawl in browns and golds and says she would like that for the wedding. I will make it and let her decide if it is the weddingest (I'm skeptical! Shouldn't it be white? or blue? or glittery?? We'll just have to see.)

Alert readers may notice that the bride-to-be is in our midst. Everyone stand & look misty-eyed.

But you see, my dress (I hope) is going to be ivory -- I think pure virginal white wouldn't be totally appropriate. ;-)

So I think the shawl will work -- won't know for sure until I have the dress, but I have this picture in my mind of the cozy shawl over a pretty long ivory dress.

Well, I have to admit that is a visual image I can understand. It Just Might Work (tm). Have to see how it comes out and be ready to change plans if necessary.
